Korean Lessons ᚛ Level 4 - Intermediate Korean #1 (Lessons 91 to 120) ᚛ Lesson 93 - To seem in Korean, "it looks like" [-(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ 것 같다]
The 것 같다 form is very often used to express uncertainty about something. In English, we could translate it as "it seems that", "it looks like", "I think that" or "I believe that". To do this, we combine the adjectival form of Korean verbs, the word
것 and the verb
같다 (= to be the same, to be similar), in the following manner:
[Adjectival form -(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ] 것 같다
The verb 같다 can then be conjugated in the desired tense, depending on whether the thought is in the past, present or future.
