Korean Lessons ᚛ Level 3 - Korean for Beginners #2 (Lessons 61 to 90) ᚛ Lesson 87 - "Each" in Korean [마다] [매]
The particle 마다 is placed after a duration or a countable element to indicate the repetition of something. In English, we would translate this particle as "every" or "each".
날마다
→ each day / every day
30분마다
→ every thirty minutes
아침마다
→ each morning / every morning
사람마다
→ each person
Even though the particle 마다 can be used in every case, Koreans already have words to express repetition over time, which they use more naturally than 마다. These words use the prefix 매 which is translated into English in the same way as the particle 마다.
매일
→ each day / every day
매주
→ each week / every week
매월
→ each month / every month
매년
→ each year / every year
매 순간
→ each moment
